Terms

1. Registration and entry fee

Registration is completed online and becomes binding upon full payment of the entry fee. The number of participants is limited; once the maximum is reached, a waiting list is kept. The entry fee is tiered:

• Early-bird registration: €75 (1 Sep – 31 Dec 2026)
• Standard rate: €80 (1 Jan – 31 Mar 2027)
• Late registration: €100 (1 Apr – 30 Apr 2027)

2. Cancellation and refund terms

As a matter of principle, cancellations do not entitle you to a refund of the entry fee. Exception: in the case of a documented injury (medical certificate) you are entitled to free participation in the following year; no monetary refund is granted in this case either. Cancellation requests are processed within one week.

The start spot may be transferred to another person up to two weeks before the race at the latest. In the event of a transfer, both the entitlement to free participation in the following year and the personalisation of the bib number lapse.

3. Mandatory documents

A valid sports-medical certificate is required to participate. Sports-medical means: issued by a doctor holding a sports-medicine qualification (in Italy: certificato medico agonistico). A general certificate from a family doctor or GP is not sufficient. The certificate can be uploaded during registration or submitted later, but must reach the organiser no later than one week before the race start — for the 2027 edition, by 8 May 2027. It must still be valid on race day. If no sports-medical certificate is submitted on time and valid on race day, participation is excluded; the cancellation terms under section 2 apply and the entry fee is not refunded.

4. Disclaimer of liability

Participation is at your own risk and your own responsibility regarding your state of health. The organiser is not liable for accidents, personal injury or property damage, or for the loss or damage of items carried, to the extent permitted by law.

5. Backyard Ultra rules

• Loop distance approx. 6.71 km (approx. 4.167 miles).
• Each loop starts on the hour.
• Whoever returns in time for the next full hour starts again.
• The winner is the last runner to complete one more full loop within the hourly cutoff.

6. Disqualification

Grounds for disqualification include in particular: failing to start a loop on the hour, cutting the course, and using prohibited aids outside the designated zones.

7. Image rights

Photos and videos taken during the event are used by the organiser to document the event and to report on it (website, social media, press). The basis for this is the organiser’s legitimate interest; no consent is collected for it. You may object to this use at any time – informally, to info@worldcup-dobbiaco.it. Details on the procedure and time frames are set out in section 10 of the privacy policy.

8. Force majeure

If the event has to be cancelled by the organiser due to force majeure, the entry fee will be refunded in full.

9. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

Italian law applies. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Bolzano, to the extent permitted by law.
